EMERGING DESIGNERS HONORABLE MENTIONS FOR STUDENTS

 

Architecture for Humanity Vancouver Chapter has unveiled the winners of “NEXT BIG ONE,” an open call for design solutions to high-magnitude earthquake and tsunami events that plague cities around the world. Project teams were challenged to propose a solution that “can mitigate natural disasters while simultaneously providing community permanence.”

8 listopada 2014 r. two projects from the CUT were awarded in the category of Emerging Designers:

Project 1:  Aqua-Estate
Project Team:
 Jakub Senkowski, Agata Palach, Monika Chrapczynska, Teodor Michalski Katarzyna Klimasz

Project 2: Lost Lagoon
Project Team: Marina Polets, Irola Andoni, Karolina Wieja, Dariusz Dziwak Adam Mierzwa, Jan Borowicz, Wiktoria Wesolowska, (Krakow, Poland), Karen Foo (Emily Carr University of Art and Design).

The projects were the result of the Design Workshop “Rising Tides. Working with the Waterline. Case Study – Vancouver”,  organized by the Chair of Urban Composition of Institute of Urban Design (Faculty of Architecture). Partners: Emily Carr University of Art + Design in Vancouver and Jagiellonian University. Tutors: Chris Doray (Emilly Carr University of Art + Design, Vancouver), Prof. Emanuele Naboni (Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen), Ewelina Wozniak-Szpakiewicz (CUT).
