Fabio Hernández Palacio jest profesorem w dziedzinie planowania miast i regionów na Uniwersytecie w Stavanger w Norwegii. Jego badania koncentrują się na zrozumieniu natury wysokiej jakości środowisk miejskich oraz transformacyjnej siły takich środowisk w kształtowaniu dobrobytnych i zrównoważonych społeczeństw. Stopień doktora uzyskał na Norweskim Uniwersytecie Nauki i Technologii w Trondheim. Posiada tytuł magistra urban design uzyskany na TU Delft w Holandii oraz dyplom architekta Narodowego Uniwersytetu Kolumbii. Pracował jako konsultant dla podmiotów publicznych i prywatnych w Kolumbii i Holandii w obszarach związanych z planowaniem miast i regionów, transportem i dostępnością oraz projektowaniem urbanistycznym i architektonicznym. Wraz ze swoimi studentami aktywnie uczestniczy w debatach dotyczących transformacji miast w Norwegii poprzez warsztaty i projekty realizowane we współpracy z władzami lokalnymi.
Chair of Housing Enviroment Faculty of Architecture Cracow University of Technology is pleased to invite you to attend a lecture by Professor Fabio Hernández Palacio that will take place on 13th April 2026 at 14:15 in the P6 lecture hall at 1 Podchorążych street. The lecture will take place in English as part of Fabio Hernández Palacio’s stay as a visiting professor at the Faculty of Architecture, CUT.
Fabio Hernández Palacio is an Associate Professor in City and Regional Planning at the University of Stavanger in Norway. His research focuses on understanding the nature of high-quality urban environments and the transformative power of such environments to foster prosperous and sustainable societies. He completed PhD at The Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim. He holds a master’s degree in urban design from TU Delft in the Netherlands and an architecture degree from the National University of Colombia. He has worked as a consultant for public and private entities in Colombia and the Netherlands in areas related to city and regional planning, transport and accessibility, and urban and architectural design. With his students, he actively engages in the urban transformation debates in Norway through workshops and collaborative projects with local authorities. As an educator, Fabio is the coordinator and teacher for several Urban Design and Placemaking courses in the bachelor and master’s programmes. He also contributes to doctoral courses, providing guidance and teaching on urban planning topics and has supervised numerous theses. He has contributed to research on urban density and the impact of urban form on accessibility. A lecture will explore key challenges and emerging questions shaping today’s cities.
