Daniel B. Hess

Bio note

Daniel B. Hess, PhD, is Professor of Urban Planning at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York. He served as Visiting Scholar at Krakow Polytechnic University during the 2023-2024 academic year courtesy of the Fulbright Scholar program. He is a winner of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Award from the European Commission and is editor of four books and dozens of scholarly articles about urban change, metropolitan development, and equitable cities.

I am delighted to return to PK as Visiting Professor where I will engage with students and collaborate with professors on ongoing research projects. Krakow provides a stimulating environment for studying city planning and interventions that can make cities more sustainable, resilient, and inclusive.
