Podchorążych 1. Wykład odbędzie się w języku angielskim w ramach pobytu Eleny Douvlou jako profesora wizytującego na Wydziale Architektury PK.
Dr Elena Douvlou jest architektką i pełni funkcję prodziekan w Wydziale Architektury w Metropolitan College. Uzyskała doktorat z projektowania budynków energooszczędnych i komfortu termicznego oraz tytuł magistra architektury (MAArch) z zaawansowanego projektowania architektonicznego (architektura bioklimatyczna), oba na Uniwersytecie w Sheffield w Wielkiej Brytanii. Z ponad 25-letnim doświadczeniem dydaktycznym dr Douvlou specjalizuje się w architekturze bioklimatycznej, projektowaniu środowiskowym i zrównoważonym, komforcie termicznym, projektowaniu urbanistycznym i rewitalizacji oraz procesie syntezy architektonicznej. Wcześniej pełniła funkcję kierownika kursu MArch in Architecture and Urbanism w Metropolitan College, starszego wykładowcy i kierownika kursu MSc in Architecture & Sustainability na Uniwersytecie w Portsmouth oraz profesora nadzwyczajnego w Boston Architectural College w USA w latach 2009–2024. Jest aktywną badaczką i mentorką; publikowała liczne prace w czasopismach naukowych, współtworzyła rozdziały książek i wygłaszała referaty na konferencjach międzynarodowych. Była promotorką licznych prac magisterskich i doktorskich oraz recenzentką publikacji naukowych z zakresu architektury i zrównoważonego projektowania, w tym „International Journal of Sustainable Development Research”, a także badaczką wirtualnej współpracy między instytucjami. Dr Douvlou była również współredaktorką tomu Springer Nature poświęconego narzędziom edukacyjnym służącym osiąganiu Celów Zrównoważonego Rozwoju (SDGs) oraz kierownikiem sekcji Architektury, Projektowania i Urbanistyki w nadchodzącej publikacji „Springer International Handbooks of Education. Handbook of Using Virtual Exchange Across Disciplines: Building Global Citizens from Home”. Jest członkinią Izby Technicznej Grecji (TEE), Rady Rejestracji Architektów (ARB, Wielka Brytania) oraz Akademii Szkolnictwa Wyższego (HEA, Wielka Brytania).
Chair of Housing Enviroment Faculty of Architecture Cracow University of Technology is pleased to invite you to attend a lecture by Professor Elena Douvlou that will take place on 10th June 2026 at 12:00 in the P5 lecture hall at 1 Podchorążych street. The lecture will take place in English as part of Elena Douvlou’s stay as a visiting professor at the Faculty of Architecture, CUT.
Dr Elena Douvlou is a registered architect and the Associate Dean of the School of Architecture at Metropolitan College. She holds a PhD in Energy Building Design and Thermal Comfort and an MAArch in Advanced Architectural Design (Bioclimatic Architecture), both from the University of Sheffield, UK. With over 25 years of teaching experience, Dr Douvlou specialises in Bioclimatic Architecture, Environmental Design and Sustainability, Thermal Comfort, Urban Design and Regeneration, and Architectural Synthesis. She previously served as Course Leader of the MArch in Architecture and Urbanism at Metropolitan College, as Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for the MSc in Architecture & Sustainability programme at the University of Portsmouth, and as an Adjunct Professor at the Boston Architectural College, USA, from 2009 to 2024. An active researcher and mentor, she has published widely in academic journals, contributed to book chapters, and presented at international conferences. She has supervised numerous MSc, MPhil, and PhD theses and serves as a reviewer for scholarly publications in architecture and sustainable design, including the International Journal of Sustainable Development Research, and as a scholar for virtual exchange. Dr Douvlou was also co-editor of a Springer Nature volume on educational tools for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and served as Section Head for Architecture, Design, and Urbanism of the forthcoming publication, Springer International Handbooks of Education. Handbook of Using Virtual Exchange Across Disciplines: Building Global Citizens from Home. She is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE), the Architects Registration Board (ARB, UK), and the Higher Education Academy (HEA, UK).
